The Gathering at Moh’kinsstis is a one-day Indigenous-led community gathering taking place on National Indigenous Peoples Day in Calgary. Hosted by the Indigenous Gathering Place Society, the event brings to life the vision of a permanent Indigenous Gathering Place grounded in culture, connection, ceremony, and belonging. Guided by Elders and Knowledge Keepers, the day will feature cultural teachings, storytelling, artisan vendors, family-friendly activities, and an evening Indigenous music showcase. Taking place across ContainR Art Park and the Alexandra Centre in Inglewood, the Gathering creates space for community to come together, celebrate Indigenous cultures, and strengthen relationships across Treaty 7.
